In short, amber is fossilized resin. While sap works to move food up through the inside of the tree, resin acts more like a scabbing reflex, to cover over damaged surface areas and protect the tree from insects and disease on the outside.
Baltic amber is simply amber that's found in the coastal areas around the Baltic Sea... READ MORE
Baltic amber teething necklaces aren't for chewing like the silicone-bead 'Mommy' style teething necklaces, instead they're made of Baltic amber and work by resting directly on the skin to provide pain relief. They're worn by the child who is teething in order to relieve teething pain and other related symptoms... READ MORE

We believe that there is value to wearing Baltic amber directly on the skin, specifically in treating pain & inflammation, and that this is related to the high levels of naturally occurring succinic acid that are found in Baltic amber.
Succinic acid already naturally exists in the body in small amounts. It's an alkalinizing acid (like lemon juice) so it doesn't add to your body's acidity and may actually slightly lower it.
What makes Baltic amber special is that this concentration of succinic acid is much higher than in amber found in other parts of the world... READ MORE
The string in each of our amber necklaces and bracelets is knotted by hand in between each and every bead, so should the necklace break the rest of the beads will not scatter. In the unlikely event that a bead should be ingested, amber is a non-toxic substance and is not harmful.
The necklaces fasten with a lead-free, plastic amber-colored clasp that opens and closes easily, which doubles as the safety-release mechanism. If a necklace were to get caught on something, the clasps are designed to either pop or break open when a certain amount of force is applied depending on the type of clasp you choose, of which we have two options, Pop and Twist.
*Please note that due to changing regulations in the U.S. & Canada, we are phasing in a ‘Small Parts’ warning on the Baltic amber teething jewelry. It indicates that it should not be used for a child under the age of 3... READ MORE
We've started to get this question a lot, and there seems to be quite a bit of confusion around the subject of heating, pressurizing, or 'autoclaving' Baltic amber.
Thankfully, we've actually been to Lithuania and walked through the Baltic amber workshop that all of our Baltic amber jewelry comes from, and had each step explained to us by the 'Master' amber artisan. This cleared up some of our own questions and confusion about the process, and our hope is that we can now pass that clarity on to you... READ MORE
Raw Baltic amber isn't something you could safely wear or put on your child. It has too many hard and (potentially sharp) edges. As a result, no one makes or sells actually 'Raw' Baltic amber teething jewelry (in the correct sense of the word).
However that's not what most people mean when they say 'Raw' amber. What they really mean to ask is if the Baltic amber is 'Semi-Polish' (as opposed to being 'Full-Polish')... READ MORE
